I seem to be connected but I don’t see my SME, what do I do?
First, be patient. Due to different computers, broadband speeds, and other variables, connections can take a few seconds, or in rare cases up to a minute or two. Also, it could be that your SME hasn’t responded to your video chat request. If you feel it is taking excessively long, then refresh your browser by clicking on the address bar and hitting the enter button.
Do I need to register with InterKanect in order to connect with a SME?
No. Just find your SME and click “InterKanect a SME”, the rest is automatic. That’s all there is to it. No information is taken nor kept. Come and go as you please.
What does online status mean?
The small green circle next to each SME's avatar lets you know if the SME is online. A small red circle means the SME is online but currently in an InterKanect session.
Will Interkanect work with Android or ISO (Apple) phones?
Currently Interkanet only functions with Android phones and tablets. iOS will be support soon. Until then, laptops, PC’s and other tables like Surface/Surface Pro will allow you to easily connect with a SME.
What are the minimum computer requirements to use InterKanect?
Because of the nature of InterKanect’s peer-to-peer WebRTC architecture, the system requirements are minimal. Nevertheless, here’s what you need:
-- An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (5G,4G/LTE).
-- Windows OS Laptop w/ Speakers and a microphone built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth.
-- A webcam or HD webcam either built-in or USB plug-in.

Supported tablet and mobile devices: MS Surface PRO 2 or higher and running Win 8.1 or higher; Android devices
Supported browsers: Windows: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer.
Does Interkanect function with any email service?
Yes. However, some ISP Email servers may have delays built into Send/Receive Services, so if you email responses from InkerKanect lag, check with your ISP.
What if I do not see a SME category that I need?
If you have searched thoroughly and are certain that we do not have the category you need covered, please go to the contact page to let us know. We will then stand up a category and start recruiting SME’s to support that category.
What if I there are no SME’s in the category that I need?
We ask you to contact us and tell us and then check back again soon. We are growing quickly and are recruiting SME’s literally all the time. If you like, be sure and give us a cotact email so we can tell you when a SME registers for the category.
Is there a charge to use InterKanect?
All charges are between you and your SME. You will know the cost of your session before it starts. Then it’s up to you to decide to accept or decline or renegotiate the price.
What if I am not satisfied with my SME session or with the information I get from my SME?
Like any advisor, if you are not satisfied with what they provide you, you don’t come back. Interkanect provides a rating system and profile pages that allow you to vet the SME before you engage. If they deserve a one-start rating, then that’s what you should give them. Also remembering that if they deserve a 5-start rating, that’s what you should give them.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You have 24 hours after the InterKanect session has ended to request a refund (click here). InterKanect will refund the entire amount of your purchase to your PayPal account minus PayPal's service fees.
What kind of information will InterKanect never ask me to provide?
First and foremost, never give out your password. Occasionally, we may ask for a few things from you, but we will never ask for:
- Your password or sign-in credentials.
- You to email us your password.
- You to log into a site outside of the interkanect.com domain, or to download and install an application.
If you receive any such request or message, please never download or run such applications or email attachments - they are definitely not coming from us!
