What is interKanect's pricing structure?
For the free account you will receive 80% payouts (minus paypal's processing fee) on each interkanect call and you are only allowed to host paid calls. For upgraded accounts you have the option to host either paid or free calls. Paid calls are the same 80% payouts but, you also have the ability to collect Tips and Donations within a call which are 100% payouts (minus paypal's processing fee).  You also have the option to host multiple interKanect calls at the same time with the upgraded account.

Do I need a Paypal account?
Yes. If you expect your callers to pay for interKanect calls, you will need a Paypal account in order for you to get paid. All payments on the interkanect platform are made via PayPal. 

How do I know when I have an incoming interKanect call?

While logged into your interKanect page, your device will start chirping and you will see this pop-up window appear on your screen:

How does an interKanect call Work?
After answering an incoming interkanect call, you and your caller have 5 minutes to negotiate the call terms such as price and length of the call. Once the call terms are agreed upon, you will enter them in the pop-up window and then click OK. A new pop-up window will appear on the caller's screen displaying the negotiated call terms and requesting approval for payemnt. The caller will then click the Pay button and be taken to paypal to make payment. At this point the interKanect call is suspended. Once the payment is processed, you will automatically be re-connected. 

Will interKanect automatically disconnect when the call time has expired?
No. Once the session has expired, a pop-up window will appear on your screen asking if you would like to extend the interkanect call. At this point you and your caller have 5 minutes to negotiate the terms of the call extension such as price and length of the call. Basically repeating the same process as when you answered the interKanect call.

How much does interKanect take out for tips and donations?

Nothing! All tips and donations you receive through the interKanect platform are 100% payouts to the member. Minus PayPal's processing fee of course. Which is 3.49% + $0.49 for all online transactions's.

I do not see the Tip/Donation button when I'm on an interKanect Call?

Tips/donations and other features are only provided for upgraded accounts.

How often do I get paid?
Payments will be made weekly, on every Friday, NLT 7:00 PM PST. Unless that day falls on a U.S. holiday, which then the payment will be made the following business day.

Am I required to charge for my interKanect calls?
No. If you have an UPGRADED account you have the option to host free or paid interKanact calls. However, all FREE based accounts can only host caller paid interKanect calls. 

In what form do I get paid?
All payments are made as a disbursement to your Paypal account.

How secure is interKanect's Video Chat & Whiteboard Service?

VERY SECURE! InterKanect uses one of the most secure VoIP protocols avaliable and was designed with security in mind. All media sent between users have end-to-end encrytption. InterKanect does not record or save any user media data such as  voice, video, whiteboard data or text messages. In addition, interKanect does NOT allow either party to use any type of voice, video or screen recording device when using interKanect's platform.

I seem to be connected but I don’t see the member, what do I do?
First, be patient. Due to different computers, broadband speeds, and other variables, connections can take a few seconds, or in rare cases up to a minute or two. Also, it could be that your SME hasn’t responded to your video chat request. If you feel it is taking excessively long, then refresh your browser by clicking on the address bar and hitting the enter button.

What does online status mean?

The small green circle next to each member's avatar lets you know if the member is online. A small red circle means the member is online but currently in an interKanect call.

Will interKanect work with Mobile Devices?
Yes.

What are the minimum computer requirements to use interKanect?
Because of the nature of InterKanect’s peer-to-peer WebRTC architecture, the system requirements are minimal. Nevertheless, here’s what you need:
System requirements:
-- An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (5G,4G/LTE).
-- Windows OS Laptop w/ Speakers and a microphone built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth.
-- A webcam or HD webcam either built-in or USB plug-in.
Supported operating systems: Windows down to Windows 7
Supported tablet and mobile devices: MS Surface PRO 2 or higher and running Win 8.1 or higher; Android devices
Supported browsers: Windows: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer.

Does Interkanect function with any email service?
Yes. However, some ISP Email servers may have delays built into Send/Receive Services, so if you email responses from interKanect lag, check with your ISP.

Is there a charge to use interKanect?
All charges are between you and the member. You will know the cost of your session before it starts. Then it’s up to you to decide to accept or decline or renegotiate the price.

Can I request a refund?
Yes. You have 24 hours after making an interKanect call to request a refund (click here). InterKanect then has seven (7) business days to review your request and interview the member. If interKanect rules in your favor, you will be refunded the entire amount of your purchase minus Paypals processing fee to your PayPal account.

What kind of information will interKanect never ask me to provide?  

First and foremost, never give out your password. Occasionally, we may ask for a few things from you, but we will never ask for:

  • Your password or sign-in credentials.
  • You to email us your password.
  • You to log into a site outside of the interkanect.com domain, or to download and install an application. 

If you receive any such request or message, please never download or run such applications or email attachments - they are definitely not coming from us!
