Do I need a Paypal account to register as a SME?
You do not need a Paypal account to register as a SME but you do need a Paypal account to get paid.
Will InterKanect automatically disconnect when the negotiated time is up?
No. It is the responsibility of the SME to manage the time. We at InterKanect recozgnie that this is an important function and will implement a timer in revision 2.0. Until then, if you need to extend a session, ask your client to logout and InterKanect again.
How often do I get paid?
The first payout of each year is the first Friday in January, then every other Friday thereafter. If the payout day falls on a holiday, the payout will be the day before.
Am I required to charge for my consultations if I use InterKanect?
You are not required to charge for your services but you are highly encouraged to do so. You have a special knowledge, talent, or skill that you should be proud of; there is nothing wrong with being compensated for sharing that knowledge with others. Providing a session without charging periodically may be required or appropriate from time-to-time. However, SMEs that use InterKanect excessively without charging will be disqualified as a SME.
I need to change my username, what do I do?
At this time, once you activate your account you cannot change your username. This capability will be available in future revisions. If absolutely necessary, you can activate a new SME account.
In what form do I get paid?
All payments are made as a disbursement to your Paypal account.
How secure is InterKanect's Video Chat & Whiteboard Service?
InterKanect uses one of the most secure VoIP protocols avaliable and was designed with security in mind. All media sent between users have end-to-end encrytption and there are no media servers along the route (SFU or an MCU). InterKanect does not record or save any user media data such as voice, video, whiteboard data or text messages while using the video chat & whiteboard service.
